Edna’s feelings towards the men in her life was interesting to me, especially thinking about the way she feels about her husband being away versus Robert going away. I know that is the big point of the section, but thinking about it and listening to Edna flesh out her thoughts especially after her husband went out of town was interesting for me to think about. I am sure she loves her husband, but is there something to be said about the metaphorical grass being greener with Robert? Does she have this infatuation with him because she can not be with him?
The section with the doctor also got me thinking about what it was like for women at the time that were seeking genuine medical advice, and how awful that experience must have been. Besides the fact there there was not modern medicine the same way we have it today, there was also very little work done to learn about female anatomy and the proper treatments that go along with it.
I almost forgot! Song of the day.
